Welcome back to Term 3. I hope all our families managed a restorative break. I certainly enjoyed my break in Iceland with my family. Such an incredible country! It truly is the land of Fire and Ice - we walked into a glacial cave and ended our trip with a flight over an active volcanic eruption!
In the first week of the holidays, our school hall was chosen as the location for the memorial service for Heather Williams, our former woodwork teacher. I was terribly dissapointed to miss the service but by all accounts it was moving affair, with many commenting on how much Heather enjoyed working at our school.
There have been a few staff changes since the end of last term. Gill Irvine will take on the Woodwork role for the remainder of the year. We also welcome Jess Lister to Class 5/6 where she will fill in for Renee Schipp who is on leave without pay until the end of this year.
Thank you to those parents who have already attended their parent interview. If you are yet to make a booking to meet with your child's teacher, please call/visit the office to book a time slot.
Week 5 this term is Book Week so here is your heads up to start planning your costumes! And we also have the Class 4 and Class 5/6 plays coming up in the first half of the term. Lots to look forward to!
I am looking forward to catching up with our Class 6 & 7 parents on Friday August 18th to chat about all things High School for 2024!
