Principal's Address
The start of term continues to be busy. A huge thank you to all the parents that supported our P&F Sausage Sizzle and Cake Stall with donations of time, plants and baked goods. Penny Goodwin and Teresa Stockdale deserve special mention for their wonderful organisational efforts in making this happen.
The Summer Music Session was another wonderful opportunity for our school and the community to gather together and enjoy local talents, fun and friendship, made all the more delicious by the treats offered from our families and students. Thanks to all who supported the inaugural gathering.
The next event to be looking forward to is our Bush Dance on March 7th. Spread the word and gather as many family and friends as you can to come along. Tickets can be purchased through trybooking.com – see the link on the attached poster. All funds raised will go towards the construction of our Kitchen Garden Classroom.
Did you know that a child who misses just 1 day of school a fortnight will miss over 3 terms of school by the time they graduate from Class 6? – almost a full year! Regular attendance at school is so important for continuity of learning for children. Coming late or missing days for reasons other than being unwell really impacts on a child’s connection to the class and also the ability of teacher and child to ensure that they are getting the most out of lessons. The staff at Golden Hill Steiner School ask that parents do their best to support us in every way to ensure that children attend school as often as possible. Every day counts! The staff are eternally grateful for your support.
Our admin upgrade build is progressing well. The walls are going up as I type! Thank you to P&F parents who got the framework up for our orchard netting last year! The next stage is to get the netting up and the school has engaged the services of Craig Lynch who is experienced with orchard netting. He will be completing it during the Term 1 school holidays. It’s certainly all happening!
Enjoy the fortnight ahead!
Warm Regards,
Jacqui Hamblin
