Playgroup

The Golden Hill Playgroup is a special place where our Playgroup Leader, Laura Egan, guides the session through a nurturing program inspired by Rudolf Steiner’s indications for very young children.

The aim of our playgroup is to create a homelike space of warmth and goodness for children where they can learn holistically from play, as well as welcome parents and caregivers to make valuable social connections to the local community.

Our sessions are held in our Peppermint Cottage with the children given the time and space to engage in unstructured, self-directed play with open ended materials, while parents busy their own hands with simple crafts or enjoy a cup of tea.

While their parents are nearby, children engage in songs during circle time, leading into a shared fruit break, finishing with storytelling.

It is highly recommended families attend our playgroup program for a gentle transition into our Karri Kindergarten, to both familiarise children with similar routines, and for parents to learn the fundamentals of how to best support their child’s development from home.

SESSION TIMES

Babies – 4-year-olds. Thursday 9am - 11am. Termly rate of $90 or a casual rate of $12 per session.

3 to 4-year-olds. Tuesday 9am – 11am. Termly rate rate of. Numbers are limited to 10 places and preference is given to those families that have enrolled their child in Karri Kindy.

Garage Sale Trail

The Shire of Denmark is facilitating bringing the Garage Sale Trail back to Denmark this November. The trail will take place over two big weekends of garage sales on 13-14th and 20-21st November with a trail tutorial online masterclass scheduled for the weekend of 6-7th November where tips and tricks will be shared ahead of the trail events.

The Garage Sale Trail encourages community members to sell, shop and learn about the circular economy, promoting the premise of reduce, reuse and recycle as an important step in the fight against climate change.
