Welcome to term 2 and our very first e-Newsletter! We have received feedback over the years on the need to improve the consistency and reliability of our communications with parents and we are pleased to be working with Schoolzine to implement a new communications platform suite of e-newsletter, app and website which will create a seamless way to communicate with the school. The main advantage will be in saving parents and school staff time and resources in the management of absentee notifications, accessing the school newsletter and calendar, returning forms to school - all of which can be performed from your phone. (I love that you can sign a form with your finger on your phone screen and forward it to the office with a tap!) Further into the newsletter you will find instructions on how to download our school app through Schoolzine.
We understand that technology use is pervasive and not always to be encouraged, however, given that the app places everything in one place, we feel that the benefits outweigh the disadvantages. There will be less time spent than having to follow the newsletter link through email or website, the newsletter is optimised for viewing on all devices, chasing up forms in the bottom of school bags will become a thing of the past and the benefits of calendar syncing at the touch of a button will save time, in addition to improving our communications with you all. So I encourage you to give it a go! Office staff are more than happy to assist with questions and queries you may have and we welcome your feedback. Paper copies of the newsletter will be available from the office for those who still prefer a paper copy.
A reminder (on this warm and sunny day) that it is time to ensure your children have rain jackets at school for those showers that can occur at any time in our corner of the world! We are happy to allow children to play in the rain at recess, provided they have the appropriate attire.
Our AGM is on Monday May 20th in our school hall. We welcome all to attend to share afternoon tea, be present for the tabling of the Annual Report for 2018, thank our 2018 Board and elect new Board members for 2019.
With warm regards,
Jacqui Hamblin
Principal
