Dear GHSS Families,
We've Moved Finally! We have moved in to our new premises! The admin team has relocated to their new office and whilst we still have some finishing touches to complete - pictures to hang and a reception desk for the front office - we can now be found in our new home! Please come and visit us.
Important Reminders A reminder to parents that it is a requirement for the safety of everyone on site that children are signed out through the front office when being collected during school hours. Should they return to school on the same day, then please ensure you sign them back in also.
Where children are absent from school, please provide the school with written notification. This can be done with ease on the school's Schoolzine app or by sending in a handwritten note when the child returns to school.
School Photos MSP Photography will be taking our school photos this Friday. Children were given a letter on Monday with their unique shoot key code that allows you to order school photos online. For those parents who would prefer to order using an envelope order form, we have a limited number of envelopes at the front office.
Should you misplace the unique shoot key for your child, just call the GHSS office as Tegan has a master copy of the shoot keys for the entire school.
Friday's colour is green for those who wish to have their children dress in the appropriate colour clothing or school shirt for the photos.
P&F Meeting is this Wednesday at 1.30pm in the Green Room of the Hall. We will be planning for the Spring Fair in November. It would be great to have a representative from each class at the meeting - and if you are keen to help out but can't make the meeting, don't worry, your class carer will be calling for helpers in the not too distant future.
Warm Regards,
Jacqui Hamblin

P&F Meeting - Wednesday 26th August at 1.30pm
The Golden Hill Steiner School Parents & Friends Association Inc. will be meeting to discuss the role of P&F and how we can help support the school in the future.
We have had positive feedback about joining the school in the Garage Trail Sale on Saturday 21st November. Suggestions have been put forward that the younger classes do the food, class by class, maybe a cake stall for Kindy/Class 1 and Food Stall run by Class 2. The remaining classes could organise activities for the day. We also need to set prices for food/car boot sale stalls. A designated person is needed to organise the car boot sale stalls & be a contact person for the event.
The Denmark CWA Soup Day is also on Wednesday at the Denmark CRC and I will be going along to that if anyone else fancies coming along around 12 noon. Great food and cheap price of $12 per person.

Hands in the Earth Day - Saturday 29th August
The 'Hands in the Earth Days' give us all an amazing opportunity to create a timeless space in nature for our children.
$5 per person for food or $20 per family
Kristi from Earth Parenting holds the space for our children, helping them to keep safe within the elements. We encourage more Dads to come. Kristi will show how to do ropework & knots; wood weaving for cubby houses and climbing frames.
You will not be disappointed!
Come all day or when it suits.
EVERYONE WELCOME

“Steiner schools are communities characterized by parents and teachers united together on behalf of their children – with each person contributing their time, energy, creativity and resources to meet the needs of the entire community.”
It is time once again to remind families of the value of the Family Participation Scheme. At all Steiner schools parents are positively encouraged to join in with many school activities. The teachers need the support of parents to do their work. This support is found in many ways - through good will, positive support and the undertaking of practical work. Our school is nurtured and maintained by parent participation and effort. To maintain a lively, healthy school we need ongoing interest and participation for the social and financial wellbeing of the school, and in fact, the very existence of the school.
To spread the help needed equally through the school community we have created the following compulsory time contribution:
2.5 hours per parent per term
Each family situation is different and some parents can and like to offer more than 10 hours a year.
For others which either can’t or prefer not to participate we have
created the following alternative contribution:
$10 per hour = $25 per parent per term
Invoices for families who have chosen not to contribute time to the Family Participation Scheme will be sent out in Term 4. For those who are still intending to participate their time rather than contribute financially there is still time and many opportunities. Please see the attached PDF for detailed information about the scheme.
It is of vital importance that any hours that you do contribute to the school are recorded so that you are not invoiced for them instead. Please feel free to visit or contact our admin team to let us know of what hours you have contributed and how you have contributed support. There is a form that can be completed for each family to record hours contributed, a copy of which can be downloaded via the Schoolzine app or a hard copy of which can be collected from the front office.
Thanks and appreciation!
